fall pictures 2014

We had our family pictures taken back in November. It was 3:00 in the afternoon and about 31 degrees. It was so so so so cold. Our session was a "mini" that we managed to do in about 8 minutes. ha! I love how they turned out.

We didn't get many smiles at all from the kids. The good thing about taking family pictures outside when it's 31 degrees...I wasn't sweating! haha!

If I tried to put Emma down for pictures by herself or with Hudson she FLIPPED OUT. So this is the only picture of the kids by themselves. And the only picture of Emma without me holding her. ha! We even tried giving her a leaf bigger than her head to see if it would make her happy. Nope.

One of my favorites...

I love LOVE my family. Oh my word I'm so thankful for them.

My girl. Love her to pieces.

My crazy sweet, smart, and crazy boy.

My boys.

This man. So thankful to be his partner. So thankful to be married to my best friend. Love him more than I ever thought possible.

I am blessed beyond measure with this family of mine.

surprise getaway!

My sweet husband surprised me with a night away! He arranged everything and I found out about it 2 hours before we left. He borrowed this Mercedes for our trip...or 20 minute drive!

We enjoyed our favorite honeymoon snack on the way. Dr Pepper for John, Diet Coke for me, and Haribo gummy bears to share. We ate this little snack several times on our honeymoon and it's become a very nostalgic treat for us.

Convertible selfie!

The view from our room...

We checked into our hotel and relaxed for a little bit and then headed down to the spa for couples massages! Heavenly.

After our massages we spent some time in the spa relaxing (separate because it was a spa) but still so nice. That evening we got cleaned up and then went to dinner in our hotel. It was delicious!

Breakfast the next morning......YUM!

Heading home! Such a fun 24 hours kid free with my man!

We stayed at a resort & spa here in Birmingham. It was so fun to get a way but still be close to home. Our kids didn't miss us at all. They had the best time with Mrs. Donna and then E&B. So thankful for my sweet and thoughtful husband and wonderful friends who love our kids.

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 19

Day 127: They're playing so well together today. Earlier they were having a {toy} picnic and eating baked beans and carrots. The laughter from them today has been so good for me. The last couple of days have been sort of rough. (In the not listening, lots of timeouts sort of way.)

Day 128: We had our first neighborhood supper club tonight. Hudson barely ate a thing because he was too busy playing. Love these silly faces!

Day 129: Date night!

Day 130: We had so much fun at Mary Everett's bubble birthday party this morning. We've been blowing bubbles all day!

Day 131: I am SO thankful to be their mommy. #beyondblessed

Day 132: A perfect day for sidewalk chalk.

Day 133: Emma wants to do everything her big brother does. Love these two.

Pentatonix!

Back in March we went with some of our friends to go see Pentatonix! We are HUGE Pentatonix fans. We watched them on The Sing Off and have loved them since.

If y'all haven't heard Pentatonix before go check them out here

Such a fun night out with friends.

summer randoms

ICYMI, I'm not giving up on blogging. I'm going back to June and posting about all the things that happened this summer. Hang in there with me as I get all caught up.

At the beginning of June, Patrick, Courtney, and Ethan were driving from Waco back to North Carolina. We are so excited that Birmingham is a halfway point for them! It was great seeing our best friends.

Spending some time together watching a video on the iPad.

Hudson is always very quick to remind us when we need to pray.

Hilarious...he wasn't falling, just trying to get out.

Fun in the backyard. This was right before Emma started crawling so it was a lot easier to play outside.

My sweet littles before our second Sunday. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of them on our first Sunday.

The eyes.

This picture was taken towards the end of a really long week. John was in D.C. with the Chapel Choir and the kids and I were in Birmingham alone. Hudson's 2 year molars started coming in which made him sick and Emma's bottom 2 teeth came in. She also started crawling that week.

While I was taking one of Emma's monthly pictures, Hudson jumped up in the chair with her. This was SO RARE. He rarely sits still for a picture, let alone one in a chair with his sister.

Our first time using the beast cart at Target.

My new friend Jen (who I met through Twitter and lives in the area) came up to our house with her kids one day. Her twins, JP and Jocelynn are 19 months old and Maddie is 4 months old. I am so thankful for Jen and her friendship!

After John got back from the Chapel Choir trip, our house got toilet papered by some of the students. We take it as a sign of love. ;)

John and I got to have a date night and he drove me up to the top of the "mountain" to see the view of downtown.

Everyday, John will tell Hudson all the ways he's proud of him. Things from, picking up toys to giving good hugs. It lasts for a couple of minutes and it's such a precious time.

Alright, that was random enough. :)
