It's Friday again so that means
Kelly's Korner is hosting another blog carnival! Today is wedding receptions and honeymoons.
As my regular readers know, yesterday John and I celebrated 4 fantastic years of wedded bliss! I can't believe 4 years have come and gone. Like many others, there are days where I feel like we are still newlyweds and others where I feel like we have been married for forever. But everyday I am more in love with my husband and love being married to my best friend.
Anyway, back to why you are here! Our wedding reception was at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas. It was beautiful and perfect. And the food was AMAZING! Once again, not a lot of pictures because our photographer did not shoot in digital, but here are a few I do have.

Our first dance as man and wife. We danced to
The Very Thought of You.

Cutting John's cake...SO GOOD!

Friends at our reception!

Taking a quick break from dancing and talking to eat a quick bite!

Our friends after we were on our way to The Adolphus where we stayed on our wedding night.
I don't have a picture of it on my computer, but our getaway car was a vintage Rolls Royce.
Our honeymoon was to New York City and it was perfect for us. We stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria. It is such a classic and beautiful hotel. I found out via US Weekly that Angelina Jolie was staying at the Waldorf while we were but we never saw her. It was a fun week, one of the best of my life and I can't wait to go back!
NYC was having a heat wave while we were there. We were hoping to escape the hot August weather in Texas when we headed north for our honeymoon but it was in the 100s and humid!

In front of the greatest place on Earth!

We didn't see Donald, but this sure was fancy!

Dinner in Little Italy. We were walking down the street and just picked a restaurant. It was perfect. We got free dessert and Italian coffee. This is us enjoying our coffee.

Here is a picture of our room at the Waldorf.

We became pros at riding the Subway. Also of the self portrait.

I think this was in the financial district...notice the rose my new hubby gave me!

Ground Zero

In Chinatown. Quite the experience. We made the mistake of
eating in Chinatown. Never eat in Chinatown. Only shop in Chinatown. And the best way to do that is to follow someone down a dark scary alley, through a random door, down a very long hallway to a door on the left (that isn't marked, looks like all the other doors) and once that door is open the angels start singing all kinds of beautiful designer songs. I got a Coach wallet.

On top of the Empire State Building. We were encouraged to do this at night and it did not disappoint!

Unfortunately, while we were honeymooning, Peter Jennings passed away. We saw this tribute to him while exploring the city.

Dinner inside the beautiful Tavern on the Green before going to see Phantom of the Opera.

A sweet family that I babysat for during college found out that we had dinner reservations here and called and had our dinner paid for. We didn't know this until the waiter told us after our meal that it had been taken care of by that family. Such a sweet and thoughtful wedding present.

In Times Square after seeing Phantom.

In Central Park on our "not pretty" day.

We decided to hit up TKTS and got tickets for Hairspray.

Playing on the
Big piano in FAO Schwartz. Loved that movie!

On top of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was unbelievably bright!

We went up there to see this.

We made dinner reservations at Serendipity 3. The food was fantastic, but the...

Frozen Hot Chocolate was OUT OF THIS WORLD! There is another dessert on the table but I don't even remember what it was! ha!

My sweet and thoughtful husband made us reservations for a dinner cruise that went around Manhattan island. It was beautiful, romantic and a very fun evening.

Dancing on the cruise ship!
Wow, this sure makes me want to travel!
Make sure you head on over to Kelly's Korner to see all the other fabulous receptions and honeymoons.
