Happy Monday, y'all! We had a really fun weekend...lots of family time, time with friends, and lots of Christmasy things!
Friday morning the kids and I got up and tried to be as quiet as we could so John could sleep in a little. Once he was up we took turns going to they gym....his gym doesn't have childcare and mine doesn't have it on Fridays...so we take turns. :)
For lunch on Friday we went to the new Chicken Salad Chick in Homewood. John was able to snag a few free coupons to their preview event so we got to try it out.
Emma going in for a hug attack. Love these littles.
Emma LOVED the pimento cheese. We had to order her more because she couldn't stop eating mine.
She was getting after it. Sweet southern girl.
That afternoon I went to help my friend work on her set for the Santa Charity...more on that in a second. Friday evening we went out to dinner and then visited The Fresh Market and ended up getting some dessert to bring home. When we got home we had a group of 5th graders from church on our front lawn caroling. The kids LOVED it and thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Saturday I worked at a Santa Charity for a friend of mine who is a photographer. I picked out the kids' outfits for their pictures with Santa at 6:30 am. I'm on top of things like that.
I left around 7:30 and spent the whole day at her studio helping with sessions with Santa. John brought the kids by around 10:00 for their session. I wasn't sure how Emma would do and I was blown away...she loved Santa. Hudson did too but I knew he would. It was such a fun time because the kids got to just sit and talk with Santa...it wasn't rushed at all like at the mall. And the set was so cool!
John took the kids home and I stayed and worked until around 4:00. I was so tired but it was such a fun day!
For dinner Saturday night, we went over to E&B's house for fajitas. Hudson and Emma got to make gum drop trees with them and loved it. They are so into crafts and making things right now so it was the perfect activity. They also didn't realize it was candy until the very end. haha!
Sweet loves before church on Sunday. My mom got the kids these outfits and they are both bigger so they'll be able to get to wear them for at least 2 years. I'm so excited because come on...how cute is Hudson's jeep sweater and Emma's nutcracker smocked dress!?!?
Sunday night was the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra's Christmas music. They did an incredible job....and I am SO proud John and all of his hard work and dedication that he put into it. You can see him conducting over there on the far left.
Sushi...the perfect post-concert at home dinner. The kids were in bed and we got to enjoy this while watching an episode of The Good Wife.
It was a great weekend!
Can I just say that I love reading your blog? It reminds me of the good ol' days of the blog world!
ReplyDeleteOh, and that picture of Hudson and Emma in their Christmas clothes is perfect! I love how Hudson has his head tilted! :)
