Emma :: 9 months old

Emma James,

You are 9 months old! I can't believe that in 3 short months you will turn 1. Which means I should probably start some party planning. How in the world is already time for that??? This month has been SO MUCH FUN with you! You have such a fun little personality that is coming out more every day.

You started crawling this month! You were so close last month but you started out doing this army crawl and you would pull yourself around but now you are full on crawling and you are fast and everywhere! Hudson laughs and isn't really sure what to think about your newfound mobility. You want to be a part of everything he is doing.

You also got your first 2 teeth this week. Daddy was out of town so we got to deal with that fun moment without him. The teething explains the lack of smiles in your 9 month pictures. You have been so fussy this week and very uncomfortable. But thankfully those teeth are through the surface so hopefully we will have a break before your next ones come on in.

Clapping and waving are your new tricks this month. You love clapping for anything! One of my favorite things is when you start clapping when you are nursing. I love that! You have started hearing the word "no" this month...a lot! Mostly, when you head towards Oliver's food bowl. You love dog food and I do not understand why babies love dog food so much. You crawl to the food bowl about 3 dozen times a day. You also understand "come see me" and will crawl to me when I say that.

Your schedule is about the same as last month, wake up around 7:00 and nurse. Then you eat breakfast around 8:00. You usually have a blueberry waffle with peaches, strawberries, or blueberries. You LOVE fruit. You have started eating a banana whole and I don't have to cut it up for you anymore. You love this. You take a nap from about 9:00-10:00 then nurse again at 11:00. You eat lunch around noon and will have turkey, cheese, fruit, cheerios...really anything. You and Hudson pretty much eat the same things which is easy for me. Then you go down for a nap at 1:00 and will sleep until anywhere from 2:00-3:00. You will nurse again at 3:00 and then eat dinner around 5:30 and then bedtime and nurse again around 7:00.

You are such a joy, Emma James. You have added so much to our lives and we can't imagine what our life would be like without you. It feels like you've always been here! I love LOVE the age difference now. I think you and Hudson will always be best friends and I love seeing that begin to develop now.

Love,
Mommy

July 4th 2013

We had a really great 4th of July this year. I really wanted to get some cute pictures of the kids in their red, white, and blue but you can see how well that went.

Ehh, life with a 2 year old and 8 month old, right? :) We went to our neighborhood's little celebration and it was a lot of fun. We think it will be even more fun next year when both kids are a little older and Hudson can do more. But we had a great time walking around.

There was one little inflatable that Hudson was able to play on. He was sort of star struck when he saw all of his favorite Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters.

That evening, we came home after eating dinner and put Emma to bed. John and Hudson walked across the street to a parking lot to sit and watch the fireworks. It was a perfect spot for these 2 to see the show.

Hudson loved them and sat still and watched the whole time.

Having a snack and drink helps a ton.

Hope everyone had a great 4th!
