Bluebonnets

A few weeks ago John and I took Hudson out one evening after dinner to take the obligatory pictures in bluebonnets. I wish we could have found a field with more of them but I still love the way these turned out.

These last 2 are my absolute favorites.

Easter 2012

Yep...I'm a little behind. This little bambino in my belly has taken over nap time which was when I usually blogged. I'm determined to get caught up though.

I made my yummy coconut cupcakes for Easter weekend and added some festive Cadburry Mini Eggs.

John's dad and stepmom were able to come for the weekend and Hudson had so much fun playing with his Pop Pop.

We love the weekends grandparents come in town because we usually get a date night! John and I went to a late showing of The Hunger Games. Loved it!

Hudson was mad Easter morning. I had already fought him to try and get his new shoes on which he never wore. It just wouldn't happen.

But after church and brunch he took a wonderful nap and was happy to explore his Easter basket.

I just LOVED his Easter outfit!

Pointing the remote at the tv.

check out that lovely drool. :)

We had a wonderful 1st Easter with Hudson! I can't believe next year we will have a 22 month old and a 5 month old!!!

Details on Baby Woods #2

Thank you all so much for the sweet comments, tweets, texts and Facebook posts! We are overwhelmed by your words. We are SO excited about this new sweet baby and already feel so beyond blessed. I've gotten so many questions so here are all the answers to those and a few more details! :)

How far along are you?
I am 11 weeks 5 days today.

When are you due?
Baby Woods #2 is due November 7 but it will be a scheduled c-section sometime the week before that.

How are you feeling?
Not great. This pregnancy is already so different than Hudson's. My pregnancy with Hudson was so easy and I didn't have morning sickness at all. (Well, so easy even though I was on bed rest but that was only for swelling. No major issues.) I have gotten sick a few times and have felt pretty nauseous all day long. Not fun at all.

When did you find out?
We found out on March 10, the day Hudson turned 9 months old. :)

Are you going to find out the gender?
Yes! We will find out sometime in June. We each have a feeling of what we think but either way we will be thrilled. There are so many exciting things about having a boy or a girl.

How far apart will they be?
If you haven't already done the math they will be about 16 1/2 (almost 17) months apart. Yes, we will be busy and my hands will be full but we are so very excited!

Are you still breastfeeding?
I was until last Monday the 16th. It was going really great but my doctor told me I had to stop. Cold turkey. I will go into more details on this later but let's just say it was very painful for a couple of days. Hudson has done great though.

If I'm forgetting anything leave me a comment of email me. Again, thank you for sharing in our joy! We can't wait to become a family of four!

Taking Steps!

Hudson has started taking some steps by himself! His first ones were Monday night (the day before he turned 10 months old) and he went from me to John. Tuesday he wasn't interested in taking any steps at all but then yesterday he took so many!

I finally got it on video and you can here the annoying excitement in my voice. Today he's been taking steps again. He is already much more confident but can only take about 5 or 6 at a time.

He still hasn't figured out how to stand up by himself without holding onto anything. He tries but he can't do it. He also hasn't let go of anything to take steps so I think him being a full walker is still a few weeks away.

Hudson :: 10 Months Old

Dear Sweet Hudson Spencer,

You are 10 MONTHS OLD!!!! What? How are we less than 2 months from your 1st birthday? Everyone told us over and over again that it flies by but oh my word. I can't believe I'm about to have a 1 year old! Your 10 month photo shoot was very different this month. I only got a few of you actually sitting down. The rest...you are all over the chair!

You are into everything. You crawl so fast and you have even taken 3 steps on your own! You haven't done it yet but you think about it. You will stand in one place and think so hard about taking a step. You can stand on your own for almost a minute. You are getting so big and you seem more like a toddler than a baby some days!

You love any toy that you can push across the room. You are getting so fast at walking with a push toy that sometimes you almost run! If only our house didn't have any walls you would never stop walking with your toys!

You wave constantly now! You wave when you see people on tv, when Oliver comes running toward you and you love all the people at the grocery store. You can clap but you just don't do it often.

You still love things that are "no-no's" like the laundry room (with Oliver's food and water bowls), the dishwasher (when it's open), the toilets, trash cans and pulling clothes out of your drawers.

You have 5 teeth but I can see your 6th one about to pop through the skin. It hasn't seemed to bother you though which I'm so thankful for!

You love banging on anything...specifically tables. Our coffee tables and 2 of our end tables have nothing on them anymore because you love to bang on them and pull anything off of them. You also love pushing a toy on the ground around the house while you are crawling. It really doesn't matter what it is actually...you will do this with your clothes that you pull out of your drawers too. It started with cars but has moved to anything. I guess you are all boy and turning anything into a car!

This month you have become very attached to me. It's been sweet and hard at the same time. You always cry when I drop you off in the nursery at church which breaks my heart. I usually stay by the door and you stop crying in less than a minute. But once all the mommies and daddies start picking the other babies up you cry when they won't take you also. :)

You have started fake laughing when you hear others laugh and you also have a fake cough. It is so funny and you will mimic us when we do that.

You are still babbling all the time. You haven't said any actual words yet but you "talk" all the time. You also became such a giggle box this month. It is SO easy to get you to laugh now! And once you get going you can't stop. It's the sweetest sound ever.

You are still on pretty much the same schedule. You sleep from 7pm-7am and take a morning nap from about 9-10 and an afternoon nap from 1-3. You eat breakfast at 8, lunch around 11:30-12 and dinner at 5:30. You are still nursing at 7, 11, 3, and 7.

You eat 3 meals a day with 2 snacks. You are eating 100% table food now. Your favorites are waffles, tomatoes, bananas, saltines, cheerios, nutrigrain bars, cheese, grilled cheese, quesadillas, pasta, pears, and pineapple. You love just about anything we put in front of you!

You still love to be outside. We had a picnic this month and you loved eating your lunch outside. You got to slide by yourself for the first time. You weren't too sure what to think about it!

You have become a little guy! It's such a weird adjustment to hear people ask how old you are and then to hear them say you are small! You were such a big baby for several months and now you just burn calories all day long. Your clothes from 5 months ago still fit! Ha!

Hudson, we are absolutely crazy about you and love you more everyday. We are so humbled that God has blessed us with you and thank Him every day for you. We love you so SO much!

Love,
Mommy

I Wike to Wick It

When I was a little girl I used to eat red popsicles out in the backyard in just my diaper. I would have red popsicle juice all down my tummy and my dad would tell me to hurry up and eat but my response would be, "No, I wike to wick it!"

That's what I thought about Monday evening when we gave Hudson his first popsicle outside in the backyard. He LOVED it. His was a grape popsicle and he got a nice warm bath afterward. His poor little hands were shaking! :)

I see lots of popsicle afternoons in our future this summer!
