Emma's Nursery

I love LOVE Emma's nursery. It was so different from Hudson's. Obviously it's a girly nursery and his was a boy nursery. But still. I found some prints that I loved but I also knew I wanted only white bedding so that's how her nursery inspiration started.

The only bedding she has is a white sheet and the white rosette bedskirt. I knew I didn't want to spend money on a bumper and again just wanted all white bedding.

The fabric that her changing pad cover is made out of was one of the inspirations for her room also. I love this fabric so so much. That shelf/ledge above her dresser is something I've had for over 10 years. I got it at an antique store in Waco.

I found her lamp at Hobby Lobby and just recovered the shade with fabric.

Those 3 prints you see on the wall were the first pieces I bought for her nursery. LOVE THEM.

So that's our sweet girl's nursery. If you have any questions from where things are from just leave a comment!

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 4

I'm loving this way of doing a photo a day! If you want to follow along find me on Instagram (lindsaywoods_)

Day 22: When I dropped Hudson off in his class at church this night he cried so hard. This hasn't happened in over 2 years. It broke my heart but after a few minutes he was happy and coloring a picture. I snuggled this guy until he went to bed.

Day 23: Everyone goes a little crazy when daddy gets home!

Day 24: Hudson had not been sleeping well at night last week so we tried to see how he did not taking a nap. He enjoyed his rest time but was in bed and asleep that evening at 7:00.

Day 25: Emma took a marathon nap (4 1/2 hours). She melts my heart.

Day 26: We went to lunch with some friends after church. This was the first time we've gone to lunch after church in over 7 months. It's just been to difficult with tired littles. Hudson got his first prize from these little machines. He loved having Chloe and Caleb helping him.

Day 27: This little one loves her girl blocks so much. She was building towers and knocking them down for 30 minutes.

Day 28: Hot {kiddie warm} chocolate under a blanket while watching Mickey Mouse. We played in the snow for 5 minutes and it was COLD!

Snow Day!

So Alabama (and other parts of the south) got a crazy snow storm yesterday. It was not in our forecast to get snow so we were not prepared at all. South Alabama had it in their forecast but not us. So I had not been to the store and we had/have no food. Yikes!

Emma watching the snow fall while waiting for Hudson to come home from school. This was about an hour after it started. It was awful. Because it wasn't expected, all the kids went to school and then after it started coming down so hard they closed/cancelled school. Some parents weren't able to get to their kids and they had to spend the night at school. I can't imagine not being able to get to my kids!!! I'm so thankful we live in walking distance.

After lunch yesterday the kids got to play outside for a few minutes. Side note: Emma's jacket is at the dry cleaners. Again....NOT EXPECTING THIS! Ha! So she's wearing Hudson's jacket from last year.

Emma loved it. She kept her head down the entire time we were outside just looking at the snow while she walked.

Which made it so hard to get a cute picture of her. :)

Hudson kept eating the snow.

Emma's first time to play in the snow. She experienced her first snow last year on her first Christmas!

I tried to get a picture of them together. Not happening. :)

After the snow we came inside and they had {warm} chocolate and watched an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Vicky works at the church with John and she spent 5 hours trying to get home yesterday and only made it about 4 miles. She came back and stayed with us last night. Hudson enjoyed the book she read to him and he got to sleep with mommy and daddy!

Our church had about 30 people stay there last night and they provided meals for them. We walked over to eat dinner there last night and lunch today. Again, we weren't prepared and I was planning on doing my weekly grocery shopping yesterday (like I do every Tuesday) so we ate there also. So thankful for our church!

People were just abandoning their cars on the highways and walking instead. The highways are a mess. A friend posted this on Instagram. It's so bad y'all.

Eating the snow after lunch today.

Our house today. I should have taken a pic yesterday because it's been walked all over and it's starting to melt. It's so pretty! Unfortunately it's going to freeze again tonight so everything will be closed again tomorrow.

I'm thankful to have my family safe in our warm house today. Praying for everyone still trying to get home.

Hudson's Nursery

We've started working on Hudson's big boy room and it got me to thinking that I never posted pictures of his nursery. Actually, I never took pictures of his nursery before he came home from the hospital which to this day I'm kicking myself for. But here is room the day we listed our house in Texas on the market. He had been living in this room for 2 years already and it no longer had the glider in it, but I loved this room so so so much. Looking at these pictures make me miss our house in Texas terribly. We put so much into that house and have endless memories there. And now I'm crying.  Ha!

So here is the view of his room from his door. I loved that his room had 2 windows. You can't see it in this picture, but we had those paper black out shades on his window and they were hanging behind the valances so we could fold them up out of the way.

This is the corner where the glider was. He didn't have that shelf for his first 18 months.

One of the things I ended up loving about our house was that it wasn't a split floor plan. Out side his room you can see the door to our bedroom and then Emma's room was right next door to Hudson's. It made it easy to have our babies sleep in their cribs their first night home from the hospital.

My sweet boy playing in his room. He looks so small here even though this was only taken about 8 months ago.

Here's my sweet boy at 6 months old in the glider in his room.

So there was Hudson's 1st nursery. I guess it's his only nursery. I don't know. Even though all the furniture is the same here and he's still sleeping in his bed it doesn't feel so much of a nursery anymore. I'll be sure to share his room here too before we change it. I also haven't shared Emma's nursery so I'll do that next week!

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 3

Week 3!

Day 15: Hudson woke up in a bad 2 year old mood. We had a rough morning but bedtime that night was so sweet.

Day 16: Hudson kept giving Emma hugs because she giggled so hard every time. Love my sweet littles!

Day 17: We had a family date night at CPK. Me and my sweet girl.

Day 18: Sibling timeout time. They were pushing and hitting each other over a toy. This was also Emma's first timeout. She's seen Hudson get it so many times that she knew exactly what to do.

Day 19: Eric and Brittany (Hudson calls them E&B) came over for dinner on Sunday night and Hudson was thrilled!

Day 20: My sweet girl is 15 months old now!

Day 21: I was about to go start cooking dinner when Hudson asked me to come play blocks. Dinner could wait. Babies don't keep.

Emma's 15 month check up and sight words

Emma had her 15 month check up this morning. I like to schedule her appointments while Hudson is in school so that I can just focus on her. She was the only one in the well waiting room and had so much fun running around. She was SO PROUD of herself sitting at this table like a big girl.

Having a little snack while we waited on her doctor.

Emma's official 15 month stats:

weight: 22 pounds (30th percentile)
height: 30 1/2 inches (50th percentile)

She has stayed in these 2 percentiles for height and weight since she was born. She's growing and developing perfectly! I am so proud of her!

After her appointment we went to Target to get a couple things. She got a cake pop since she had to get 4 shots at her check up.

This afternoon (while Emma took an epic 4 hour nap!!!) Hudson worked on his sight words. So proud of my smart little guy!

Happy Tuesday, y'all! :)

Emma :: 15 months old

Emma, you are 15 months old! You are changing constantly and I can't believe you are 1 month away from being the age Hudson was when you were born. For some reason that's just so weird to me.

You talk all the time. The only "sentence" you say is "no no mama" and you say that a lot. You know what you want and when you want it. You have SO MUCH attitude and sass. I love your little personality but I have a feeling you might be a little bit of a drama queen. :)

You love to build towers with blocks. You concentrate so hard and get so excited when you stack them taller than yourself. You love knocking them over just as much as building them! Your other favorite toys are still your baby and stroller. You also love your purse and will put it on your arm and carry it around while you do other things. Too cute! You also love being outside and will throw a fit when we have to come inside. See, drama queen.

We took your paci away this month except for when you are sleeping, napping or if you need it in the car. Today we went and ran a couple errands and I didn't offer it to you and you never needed it! Score! Also, when you wake up from a nap or in the mornings I'll ask you to put your paci in your crib and you will take it out of your mouth and throw it in. You are so proud when you do that! It wasn't this easy the first week though.

You are sleeping really well at nights. You sleep at least 12 hours and for most of this month you were still taking 2 naps. A few days ago your afternoon naps were 30-45 minutes tops so we dropped your morning nap and now you're doing much better.

Your favorite foods are still fruits, crackers, mac n cheese, and chicken. Oh and anything sweet you can get your hands on.

We love you so much sweet girl! Happy 15 months!

Five on Friday: Favorite Things Edition!

Happy Friday, y'all! Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite things right now. This post is completely unsponsored. It's just things I love and wanted to share them with y'all!

First, I love my new planner I got for this year. For the last few years I've used an Erin Condren planner but for various reason, I decided to switch and I'm so glad I did. I went with the Emily Ley Simplified Planner and I just love it so much. It isn't personalized like Erin Condren but it is still so so cute! I love the layout more and I think it is a much better fit for me.

I love this Restoration Hardware No-Crack Hand Cream. This stuff is the best ever. Especially in the cold, dry winter months. I used this stuff for years several years ago and John got me a new tub for Christmas this year. Love this stuff!

Another thing John got me for Christmas this year (he's good y'all) is this Mac Lip Glass in Viva Glam VI. It's the perfect color and I love it.

ANOTHER amazing gift from John was this Tocca Colette perfume from Anthropologie. I love this scent. It's very light and fresh and just the perfect fragrance.

Last and definitely not least...these vintage tees from Old Navy are the best ever. I have 4 different colors and wear them constantly. They're so soft and comfy. The are long and the sleeves are the perfect length. Plus, they're $6 right now! Some colors are less than $5!! Go stock up!

I'm linking up today with Darci! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
