weekend recap!

We had a really great weekend! Our weekends kick off on Thursday nights since Friday is John's day off. So we walked over to Edgewood Creamery for ice cream. These 2 were not in the mood for pictures. :)

John did have to go into the office for a couple hours Friday morning so the kids and I ran errands. We hit up Costco where we got this huge beef tenderloin. John then cut it into steaks and now we have several filets in the freezer.

We were outside while John was grilling and Hudson had Oliver on his leash and was pulling him around the yard saying things like, "this is my little doggie Oliver" and " easy boy, easy!" and "this is not the place for that!" We were laughing so hard...where does he come up with this stuff?!?

Oliver really wasn't loving it.

If it's possible Emma loves steak more than I do. She definitely ate more than I did!

We somehow ended up at Edgewood Creamery again. Opps haha! Friday night I tried their frozen yogurt which only has 8 calories per ounce!!! This whole cup of chocolate frozen yogurt was only 32 calories! It wasn't the best ice cream I've ever had but so delicious and totally guilt free. My new favorite!

Hudson had a birthday party to attend on Saturday morning so he and I went and did that while John and Emma stayed home. It was so fun having some time with just Hudson. I rarely get that since he goes to school more than Emma. We went to the toy store first to pick out a present and we had a few extra minutes so he got to play.

The party was Paw Patrol themed and so much fun! Here they are rescuing cats.

And then an obstacle course.

And putting out the fire in the house.

Hudson's favorite party of any party...cake!

Saturday evening John and I went to a dinner for the worship team from the early service. It was such a fun night!

Sunday morning I went to church with these darling kiddos. Emma is a huge fan of taking pictures now and will just stand and smile. Love it!

After church we came home, ate lunch and then John and the kids all took naps. I started laundry, watched an awful movie on Netflix, and then when Emma woke up cut her pacis again. Hopefully in another week or so we will be done with these!

Sunday night after John got home we put the kids to bed and he went and picked up sushi for dinner. We watched an episode of Prison Break and then listened to 80s music and played Egyptian Ratscrew. It was such a fun and low key night!

I hope y'all had a great weekend. Happy Monday!

McWane Center!

Last week we went to the McWane Center with some friends. As soon as we got out of the car Hudson yelled, "Hey look at these trees! I love them!" I was laughing because he was already impressed.

As soon as we got inside this little ball thing in the lobby kept their attention for about 15 minutes.

We had so much fun exploring. They loved it!

They LOVED the sharks and stingrays. They never actually touched one but they kept their hands in the water the whole time and would get so excited when one would swim by.

It was such fun morning! I know we will be spending lots of time here and at the zoo after the pool closes!

Emma :: 22 months old

Emma James,

You are 22 months old! Somehow I blinked and you will be 2 in 2 short months.

You are so much fun right now. You are loving all things girly. You ask for shoes and bows all day long and we change them all day long. You love your purse, necklaces, baby, and stroller. We also painted your nails for the first time and you were obsessed!

You talk NONSTOP and all day long. Your sentences blow my mind. Hudson wasn't talking in sentences until well after he was 2 but you are a chatterbox! I love watching you have little conversations with Hudson and some of your words aren't totally clear and it's so funny to hear him try and correct you. Y'all play so well together. You also fight so well but that's to be expected. I love finding you two in your room playing together. It melts my heart!

Yesterday when I asked you if you wanted to go outside and take pictures, you enthusiastically yelled, "YES!" And then stood here saying "cheese" for about 3 minutes. That's forever in toddler talk! haha! Such a different experience from taking your picture last month. You would not stay in one spot or look at me. It amazes me how much things can change in a short month.

This past Sunday was promotion Sunday and you did so well going to a new class with new teachers. I was worried about how you would do because you had finally gotten used to and loved your old class and teachers. You surprised me sweet girl! I was so proud! You start preschool in less than 2 weeks and I know you will do great. I just can't believe you will be in the 2 year old class!!

I love you so much and I'm so thankful for you every single day.

Love,
Mommy

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 33

Day 225: We had so much fun at the McWane Center this morning with our sweet friends!

Day 226: Popcorn and Super Why. 2 extremely happy campers.

Day 227: Operation stop sucking all the things begins now. They only use pacis or suck fingers in bed so we are close. We cut the tips off of all of Emma's pacis and Hudson's fingers have bandaids on them. (But I took them off before his nap because I was afraid he would choke on a bandaid. Any tips for finger suckers?!?!) Neither one looks thrilled but it only took Emma 5 minutes to fall asleep with her ineffective pacis!

Day 228: I'd say it was a good mail day for Hudson and me!

Day 229: Neighborhood watch!

Day 230: They're my favorite.

Day 231: He's been doing this for a few months now but I'm still so proud. This usually happens unprompted!

random pics from last week

Lately Emma has wanted to do EVERYTHING that Hudson does. Like eat cereal with milk at the table. It makes her look just way too big.

Hudson started doing this and yells, "look mommy! I'm doing afrobats." hahahaha!

One evening last week we walked to go get some ice cream. These kids LOVE them some ice cream.

Last week was a pretty normal, low key week which is always nice!
