April Recap!

Dinner with friends and then playing at the park!

One of Hudson's sweet teachers moved to South Carolina. We miss her so much! Hudson loves Mrs. Kayla!

After almost 10 months of living in Alabama, I finally got my license. It's such a pain here so I put it off for so long. You have to arrive way before they open at 8:00 and start lining up outside. This particular morning it was raining. It kept the crowd down a little.

My sweet boys hanging out one evening after Emma went to bed.

We took our spring pictures and then went to the park and brunch.

After we got back from Texas, everything was blooming and gorgeous!

Hudson's train table used to be in his room but we moved it to the sunroom and moved some things out of the sunroom. He uses it so much more now!

A fun evening at the park followed by ice cream!

Lately Hudson has been a "threenager" and Emma has been teething something fierce. It's been loads of fun.

Emma is quite the daddy's girl.

A bag of Pirate's Booth as big as Emma.

Our favorite sushi that we eat about once a week. The edamame is grilled and it's so fabulous.

Babes in bowties!

This was an adorable fedora that Hudson pulls down so far on his head that he's completely re-shaped it. And it is so funny looking now.

I'm sure you've heard, but we had some bad storms roll through Alabama a few weeks ago. We played at the playground across the street that afternoon before they hit. We spent about 45 minutes in our basement and then had a break before the 2nd wave and went to the church's basement for that one. Our basement is dirty and small and the kids didn't do well down there.

Again...that fedora!

One morning after my workout I got to watch Hudson in his room for a few seconds before they noticed I was there. I love getting to see how he is when he doesn't know I'm around.

Emma's mullet is getting pretty long so I was able to get a couple of pigtails on her. They were so adorable!

The kids got a new wagon from Lady. Hudson loves it. Emma not so much. :)

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 17

Day 113: Hudson got his first handbell lesson from Mr. Matt!

Day 114: Oh ya know. Just trying to chew on the tub.

Day 115: At least they look cute in their seersucker because today can be summed up by the looks on their faces. #threenager #ihatemolars

Day 116: Kids are in bed early and we have sushi and grilled edamame. Love at home date nights!

Day 117: Babes in bow ties.

Day 118: The calm before the storm. Thankful for our creepy basement.

Day 119: My littles. No words. Ok so maybe a few. Emma is eating a stick and Hudson's fedora is pretty much the funniest thing ever.

Well hey there!

I do this every once in a while. Life gets busy, blogging gets put on the back burner, and then the thought of trying to catch up is incredibly daunting.

But this blog is my way of documenting our lives and the fun (and boring) things we do. So I'll begin catching up soon.

A couple weeks ago we made a big trip to Texas. I call it a big trip because the kids and I drove and were there for about 5 days and then John flew in. We celebrated my brother and Betsy at their beautiful wedding, John flew back to Alabama and the kids and I drove to Austin, then to Victoria for another week. So we were gone for almost 2 full weeks and it was so fun but also exhausting. But aren't the most fun things sometimes the most exhausting?

We've been back for almost 2 weeks and this week I finally feel like things are back to normal and I'm not trying to catch up on stuff anymore. Just trying to stay caught up with daily stuff now.

So be expecting lots of posts in the next few days. I know my family is happy about this. :)

Easter 2014

We got back from Texas at 10:45 pm on Good Friday. So needless to say, we didn't do anything but drive on Good Friday. But Saturday some of our friends were hosting an Easter egg hunt so we went over there.

They actually loved the bunny. Emma was so excited...not terrified like it looks. ha!

With a couple of their sweet friends.

My sweet little loves on Easter morning. Our backyard blooms at the right time...makes for perfect Easter pictures!

After church we went to Eric and Brittany's house for lunch and an egg hunt.

Hudson knew exactly what to do and had fun finding eggs and putting them in his basket. Once Emma found out there were M&M's in the eggs she just went around opening the eggs and eating the candy.

She was a mess by the end of it!

And at this point I think her stomach started hurting and she desperately needed milk. :)

Easter morning isn't the best time for us to do baskets. We waited until after naps (well after Hudson's nap...Emma fell asleep in the car which meant she didn't actually nap at all once we got home. fun times) to do the baskets.

Emma got a bunny, mermaid, busy book, Shoe-la-la, and some eggs filled with fruit snacks and goldfish.

Hudson got basically the same thing but for boys. A chick, busy book for boys, a pirate, Little Blue Truck Leads the Way (he's obsessed with the original Little Blue Truck book), and the same snacks.

Emma remembered how things worked and went straight for the eggs.

It was such a fun Easter this year!
