Giggle Box

I've been a bad blogger lately but I feel like things have been very uneventful. John's been very busy with church and Hudson and I have been staying at home a lot.

John has been in San Antonio since yesterday for a conference and I took this little video of Hudson to send to him. It was too cute not to share with everyone.

Hudson's 9 Month Well Check

We just got home from Hudson's 9 month well check and he's doing perfect!

He is a crazy active little baby and Dr. R got to experience that first hand.

Hudson got A+ on all of his developmental milestones and she said by 1 year he will be walking and RUNNING on his own. Yikes!

My active little guy has gone from the 75th percentile in weight to the 35th percentile! She said this is perfectly normal since he's so active and he's burning tons of calories.

She was happy to hear that he's doing well on all table foods and that he loves food.

Here are his official 9 month stats...

Weight: 19 pounds 15 ounces {35th percentile}
Height: 28 1/2 inches {52nd percentile}
Head: 18.25 inches {76th percentile}

Random Thoughts

1.  I really miss the days when I could put Hudson in one spot and he would stay there. He is crawling SO fast now! And he now knows when I'm after him...he speeds up!

2.  Now that we've landscaped our front yard I can't wait to plant flowers this spring! It was so ugly last year that we just didn't bother. I am trying to decide what flowers and colors I want to do! Any suggestions are welcomed. :)

3.  I have taken a nap every day this week. When Hudson goes down for his morning nap, I do too.

4.  Is anyone else watching Smash? I LOVE this show!! I've only watched American Idol 1 season and it was Katharine McPhee's season. I love her and the show has a really great cast.

5.  I am reading The Hunger Games and cannot put it down. It's so so good. I've had all 3 books since Thanksgiving when my brother in law let me borrow them. I hate that I'm just now reading them. So good!

6.  Hudson woke up at 12:45 last night just as I was falling asleep. I went in and nursed him and put him back in bed. I couldn't fall asleep until closer to 2.

7.  This week has been pretty low key. It's Spring Break here but that really doesn't mean anything for a SAHM with a 9 month old. John still has to work too.

8. My mom came in town last weekend and we had a wonderful time with her. Once again, I forgot to take pictures. She got here Friday night and we had grilled pork chops with mango salsa, sautéed brussel sprouts and salad. So good. Saturday we went to lunch, and while Hudson took his nap we went to Target, Sephora and Bed Bath and Beyond. We joke that shopping in Victoria is much different than when we go shopping in Dallas when I visit her.

9. Saturday night John and I got to go on a little date. We had planned for it to be dinner and a movie but we ended up just going to dinner and we were back home before 8:00. We were both tired and knew a time change was coming.

Happy Thursday!

Hudson :: 9 Months Old

Dear Sweet Hudson,

You are 9 months old today! Actually, you are 39 weeks and 1 day old...so you've officially been here longer than I was pregnant with you! That's crazy!

You are eating so much table food now. You've had black beans, corn, cilantro, green onions (I know those 2 things are weird but they were in a salad and you LOVED them!), bread, tortillas, brown rice, pasta, sausage, chicken, turkey, beef, saltines, club crackers, string cheese, peas, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, avocado, Yo Baby yogurt, peaches, and pineapple.

You are pulling up to standing (which you were doing last month but now you do it so fast without even thinking about it). You can stand alone for a few seconds. You don't do this often but you have done it several times.

You are such a fast crawler and you can climb! You climbed into and out of your new big boy car seat (which is still in the laundry room), you climb up the steps in the Worship Center at church, you climb up gym mat block things. You climb!

You cruise around furniture! You can transfer from one piece of furniture to another. You are pushing anything that you can to walk with. Your music table, your basket of toys, Oliver's kennel, your walker and you are starting to be able to do it with your Y-Bike. You are starting to wave bye-bye and you can clap now!

You learned how to flip the light switch which you love doing now. You know what "no" means and you laugh at me when I say it! I tested this by saying "yes" and you only laughed when I said "no." I'm in trouble! And I'm already saying no a lot! You also understand "come here."

You started a new schedule about a week ago. We dropped one of your feedings so now I'm only nursing 4 times a day. I LOVE this new schedule! You wake up around 7:00 and nurse, take a nap from about 9:00-10:00, nurse at 11:00, lunch around noon, nap from 1:00-3:00, nurse at 3:00 and then dinner around 5:30 and bedtime/nurse at 7:00.

Your favorite things to do are playing in the kitchen cabinets. Your favorite cabinet is the one under the oven. It's full of baking pans and they're all metal and make really loud noises when you pull them out. You love that. You also love windows...you will stand and stare outside for a good 5 minutes...it's a nice little break for me. ;)

You love doing things that you know you aren't supposed to do. Like making it into the laundry room and playing with Oliver's food and water bowls, the spice rack, the trash cans, playing with cords, iPhones, laptops, and remotes.

You can play "Where's Hudson" by yourself now! If you have a blanket close by I'll say "Where's Hudson?" and you cover your face. I say it again and you move the blanket away. You always giggle. Sweet boy!

You still only have 4 teeth but the 5th and 6th (top sides) are SO close to breaking through your gums. These have taken the longest to come through. I feel like they've been so close for weeks! I can actually feel them now.

You are a CRAZY determined and stubborn little boy. I say you get that from your daddy and he says you get that from me. I'm pretty sure you will be walking before you are 11 months.

I can no longer get anything done while you are awake. You are EXTREMELY busy! I spend all day following you around.

Sweet boy, you are SO busy these days. I am exhausted at the end of the day from chasing you around all day long. You move quick and are so curious. We love watching you learn and discover new things all the time. We can't believe you have been a part of our lives for 9 months already. Your 1st birthday will be here before we know it!

Love,
Mommy

Look how you've changed!

Hudson Hates Asparagus

We love asparagus in our house. Roasted or grilled are the only ways to prepare it! It's so good and easy.

The other night we had asparagus and with some of the leftovers John steamed and pureed it for Hudson. The kid has LOVED any food we have given him at this point so we assumed asparagus would be among his extensive favorite foods list.

WRONG. Major wrong.

He HATED it. Like hardcore crying, spit it out hated it.

Being the good parents we are...we kept feeding it to him so we could get it on video. He was also eating a delicious Holiday Vegetable Dinner with Roasted Turkey. That he loved.

So...here we are torturing our kid for the sake of a few good laughs.

iPhone Rewind {February}

Here's life according to my iPhone in February! Warning...there are a lot of pictures!

Looking super cool in his guitar onesie.

He's always so happy in the morning.

A warm spring like day in February. Love his tiny Sperry's!

He was really mad that his leg got stuck in his jams.

Fell asleep in the cutest position.

Hudson's first injury. He was pulling up on the coffee table and fell and got a cut right under his nose.

But this was less than 5 minutes after the injury...totally fine!

He started using his bumper as a pillow.

Beyonce the Chicken at HEB. This is probably one of the funniest things I've ever read. But be warned...there is some bad language.

Loving his new Valentine's Day books from Susu.

Since he uses his bumper as a pillow he wakes up with the funniest imprints on his face!

For Valentine's Day we went to our favorite Thai restaurant. My rice was heart shaped. :)

Another sweet pose when sleeping.

He now knows how to suck these pouches himself.

Enjoying brunch at a new (to us) restaurant.

Visiting daddy at church

Enjoying blueberry buckwheat waffles.

Playing with his new Y-Bike from Lady!

He figured out how to drink from a straw.

I love seeing him standing up now when we go get him out of his crib.

So proud using his new sippy cup with a straw.

Hudson's Easter basket!

He was SO tired at dinner...it made for a very fussy and messy time!

He has a room full of toys yet all he wants is Oliver's toy.

A beautiful sunset one evening.

We don't use this very much anymore except when we need to keep Hudson contained. :)

Hudson's new favorite activity is looking out windows.

And Oliver loves it too because our neighbors have outdoor cats. (who has outdoor cats!?!?!?!)

Playing with magazines.

John was sick all week with the flu so he rarely saw Hudson. Hudson missed him so much. Earlier this week John peeked into his room and when he closed the door Hudson lost it. :(

Another window!
