summer randoms

ICYMI, I'm not giving up on blogging. I'm going back to June and posting about all the things that happened this summer. Hang in there with me as I get all caught up.

At the beginning of June, Patrick, Courtney, and Ethan were driving from Waco back to North Carolina. We are so excited that Birmingham is a halfway point for them! It was great seeing our best friends.

Spending some time together watching a video on the iPad.

Hudson is always very quick to remind us when we need to pray.

Hilarious...he wasn't falling, just trying to get out.

Fun in the backyard. This was right before Emma started crawling so it was a lot easier to play outside.

My sweet littles before our second Sunday. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of them on our first Sunday.

The eyes.

This picture was taken towards the end of a really long week. John was in D.C. with the Chapel Choir and the kids and I were in Birmingham alone. Hudson's 2 year molars started coming in which made him sick and Emma's bottom 2 teeth came in. She also started crawling that week.

While I was taking one of Emma's monthly pictures, Hudson jumped up in the chair with her. This was SO RARE. He rarely sits still for a picture, let alone one in a chair with his sister.

Our first time using the beast cart at Target.

My new friend Jen (who I met through Twitter and lives in the area) came up to our house with her kids one day. Her twins, JP and Jocelynn are 19 months old and Maddie is 4 months old. I am so thankful for Jen and her friendship!

After John got back from the Chapel Choir trip, our house got toilet papered by some of the students. We take it as a sign of love. ;)

John and I got to have a date night and he drove me up to the top of the "mountain" to see the view of downtown.

Everyday, John will tell Hudson all the ways he's proud of him. Things from, picking up toys to giving good hugs. It lasts for a couple of minutes and it's such a precious time.

Alright, that was random enough. :)

Hudson goes to camp!

ICYMI, I'm not giving up on blogging. I'm going back to June and posting about all the things that happened this summer. Hang in there with me as I get all caught up.

The day school that Hudson will start attending next week had a little day camp this summer that Hudson attended. He was so excited about wearing his backpack and going to camp!

And of course a big truck drove by as we were taking pictures.

After the week was over they emailed me a few pictures of the week. I am so thankful to have these! Hudson loves this big stroller.

The day camp was Monday - Thursday and he had the best time! It was also a great time for me to get a lot of unpacking done. :)

John's 30th birthday!

Our first Sunday at our new church here was also John's 30th birthday. After church we went over to John's boss's house for lunch and they had a delicious strawberry cake for dessert.

It was a perfect way to celebrate my man's birthday and first Sunday here. The night before we had a celebration for him with our friends Eric and Brittany but I totally failed to take any pictures that night. I guess that's what happens when you become a bad blogger.

I am so thankful for this man!

first days & moving in

ICYMI, I'm not giving up on blogging. I'm going back to June and posting about all the things that happened this summer. Hang in there with me as I get all caught up.

We moved into our house on Wednesday, June 26. The church was SO SO SO gracious and let us take Hudson and Emma to the childcare for the rec center in the morning and after lunch a new friend (who at the time we'd never met before) watched them during their naps. It was such a blessing to be able to focus on the moving in process and not have to worry about them being in the way.

So here is the backyard (which is really on the side of the house). It's such a beautiful yard.

I'll take better pictures and include those in a house tour post, these are just a couple I snapped while the movers were unloading the truck.

We love that little sunroom. The kids play in there all day long. It is perfect.

Y'all we have a basement. It's so creepy but also nice to have. I feel safe know that we have that if there is ever a tornado. But it still scares the bejesus out of me.

My job was to supervise and play traffic cop. When they came in with something, I told them where to put it.

Our first priority was Hudson's room. We wanted him to come home from childcare and see his room almost the exact same. He has done GREAT with this transition. Emma has too obviously, but she's also not a 2 year old. :)

Our first meal in our new house. Surrounded by boxes.

The next morning we took Hudson across the street to the childcare again. We had lots of unpacking to do and there was just too much stuff for him to be able to play safely. Emma wasn't mobile yet so she stayed home.

Later that evening, Lady arrived! She was there to help unpack and love on babies.

To this day, Hudson's favorite place in the sunroom is the corner behind the trunk.

Lots of fun in the sunroom.

This "big" rock in the backyard is so much fun for a 2 year old.

"Ba-woons!"

Hudson has an obsession with popsicles.

And it's a great bonus that Steel City Pops is around the corner from our house!

Salad lover. This kid could live on fruit, popsicles, and salad.

Right around the time we moved here, Emma decided that she was done with baby food. She was obsessed with Cheerios.

My sweet loves enjoying a popsicle together.

Watching these 2 play together gives me insane amounts of joy.

We are so blessed. We are still adjusting to life here, but we love it.
