Hudson's 1st Birthday Party

Serious picture overload ahead. :)

On Saturday we celebrated our sweet boy's 1st birthday. It was such a fun party and we were so blessed by the family and friends who came to love on our precious son.

John designed the invitations and did exactly what I had in mind. I love how they turned out!

We borrowed 3 old red wagons from a local nursery for the party. Hudson and the other babies loved playing in the ice.

Hudson's sweet smash cake.

Papa Jim was our fabulous grill master.

I ordered his birthday hat from Etsy and made the high chair decorations. I just painted the letters hot glued the ribbon to the tray. The letters took about 30 minutes and the ribbon took about 30 minutes. Easy and my kind of project!

We had grilled hot dogs with all kinds of toppings (chili, sauerkraut, jalapeƱos, grilled onions, cheese, pickles, relish, ketchup, mustard and dijon mustard), tomato and feta pasta salad, fruit kabobs, veggie cups with ranch dip, and goldfish for the little ones. For drinks we had red and turquoise Jones Sodas, bottled water and Peach Tea Punch.

One of Hudson's girlfriends, Landry had fun playing with the Twister spinner.

Hudson was SO happy the entire time. You just never know how a 1 year old will be and he was perfect and such a joy. He loved having so many people in his backyard to play with.

And his favorite foods (hotdogs and fruit) made him happy too.

At first he wasn't sure what we had put in front of him. He pulled the fondant wagon off the top and ate that first.

Then he realized he could eat the whole thing and went to town!

Zoey LOVED her cupcake!

Hudson wanted to make sure he shared with everyone.

Papa Jim got a bite.

and so did Pop Pop!

A shot of the Twister board we spray painted on the grass. It was a big hit with the older kids.

We had baskets for the hotdogs and I hot glued the liners in so they wouldn't blow away. I used red and white baker's twine to tie the utensil bundles together.

Our little family of 3...almost 4!

After the party was over we opened up a couple of his presents. A fun beach ball sprinkler that Hudson and Papa Jim loved.

Izzy loved it too!

When the sprinkler isn't connected to the hose, Hudson loves to push it around the yard.

We had such a FUN day celebrating our little guy's first year. We are so grateful for all the love and support from all of our family and friends during this year.
