Happy Birthday George Michael

So at work today we've been laughing/talking a lot about George Michael and his song, "Careless Whisper" because it was playing in the food area in the SUB. So we find this video on You Tube and I email it to a friend because it is so stinking funny and she replies with, "did you know that today is his birthday?!?!?" Well, Happy Birthday George Michael! Enjoy this fantastic video from 1984.

So Excited!

I am so excited right now I can hardly stand it! This weekend I am going to The Woodlands to see my sweet friend, Ashley and her belly! Ash and her husband are expecting their first baby in October. I haven't seen Ash in over a year so I'm really excited, plus she has a cute preggo belly now!! Ash, I love you and can't wait to see you and your belly on Friday!!

"Hey Greta, what color panties are you wearing?"

The Motley Crew was on Greta Van Susteren's show {On the Record} and Tommy Lee just asked her what color her panties are! WHAT?!? ...WHO ASKS THAT QUESTION ON FOX NEWS?!?! I love the complete contrast of this band and Greta...

Quarter Century

Tuesday was my 25th birthday and I had the best birthday/birthday weekend. John and my parents got their creative minds together and had my sweet friend Beth fly in for the weekend! Friday night John and I picked her up from the airport and we spent a fabulous weekend in McKinney. Saturday we shopped til we couldn't shop anymore! We spent a few hours in downtown McKinney so Beth could experience the greatness of our town. I had been talking about McKinney for years and Beth told me that I had not exaggerated about the greatness. We then went and had a late lunch at Brio's Tuscan Grille...AMAZING! After lunch we went to the Allen Outlet Mall which has great shops! {Not as good as San Marcus, but better than Round Rock and Hillsboro!} After our glorious day of shopping and spending money we went back to my parents' house to spend time with my family and have my birthday celebration! My brother {Scott} and his wife {Melanie} and son {Topher} were all in town from Minnesota so it was great spending time with them! For my birthday I got Bernardo sandals and a pashmina from my parents and from John I got a ring and some new earphones for my iPod...I have weird ears and the earphones it comes with don't fit in my ears! Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Happy *Belated* Memorial Day

This post is a few {well, maybe several} days late but better late than never as the saying goes. Monday was a wonderful day. Our plan for the day was to go out to Lake Waco on John's aunt and uncle's boat and then head to McKinney late afternoon for a last minute bbq with my family {the whole, dad, sister and her husband, brother and his girlfriend, and all the animals}.

*Side note* In high school I was a lifeguard every summer and also taught swim lessons. I continued teaching swim lessons even after I decided to no longer lifeguard. I was very tan by the end of the summer. I mean, I used one of the darkest shades of powder at the makeup counter! It has been about 6 or 7 years since I spent my summer at the pool and my skin shows it for sure!

Ok, back to Monday. We went out to Lake Waco and spent most of our time on the house boat which stayed at the dock because it was too windy to take out. We enjoyed the company and had delicious burgers and all the fixin's. We did decide to go on a short boat run on the regular ski boat. My guess is that we were on the boat for less than an hour and my arms and legs {thankfully my shirt covered up my back} got fried! I didn't think of putting on sunscreen for that short amonut of time. As we drove to McKinney I noticed the pink "tan line" on my legs becoming more defined. Ouch! Tuesday and Wednesday were painful...complete with swelling everywhere I was burned! Thankfully I had some aloe vera plant leaves that I refrigerated and rubbed on my burns. Never had a burn that bad in my life. After talking to my mom and spending some time at we think I must have gotten sun poisoning. Fun times...

Enjoy these pictures from Monday...
