March Recap

This is gonna be a HUGE picture dump.

We found a fun park a couple miles from our house. It's not a playground park, but it's beautiful and has a creek. Hudson loved it.

He spent lots of time throwing rocks into it.

And Emma ate sticks.

Running home wearing daddy's hat.

Lunch at La Bamba. Hudson eats his weight in chips and salsa.

Our preschool ministry had a family night at church with all the inflatables. We had so much fun!

We bought a new car. We are loving the Yukon!

We played outside a lot.

Emma got lots of new teeth. I hate teething.

Dinner at a BBQ joint after getting the tags for the new Yukon. Emma loved the pie.

So did the boys!

One Saturday we went to go look at Big Green Eggs and Hudson loved this outdoor bed thing.

And Emma became BFFs with the staff.

After shopping we met up with E&B for lunch and froyo.

Hudson started sleeping in a big boy bed! He transitioned perfectly.

Emma figured out how to climb on to the table and then dance. ha!

So that's some randomness from March!

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 12

Day 78: My girl and me hanging out in the backyard. Hudson was too busy burying treasure for selfies.

Day 79: This sassy girl is 17 months old today!

Day 80: Lots of wonderful things happened today. Our little family of four had a great day together. We had a family fun night at church and these three had fun in the maze. Then my mom came this evening and brought my sister and Lincoln with her! I was shocked! And so happy.

Day 81: Hudson wanted to "sleep on the floor like baby Lincoln with a toy."
Day 82: Pentatonix concert!!

Day 83: Girls night with two of my favorites!

Day 84: We had a fun morning shopping! Hudson and Lady were looking so sweet with their coffees. (Hudson's was hot chocolate.)

Emma :: 17 months old

Emma James, you are 17 months old! You are quickly shedding any babyness that you had left and are becoming a full blown toddler. Your personality is so precious and you make me laugh every single day.

You are starting to love books. For several months you would only sit and listen to 1 specific book. But now you will sit and listen to us read several books. You're also still so cuddly. I love it because you're so busy most of the time.

You still LOVE to be outside. Specifically, outside collecting sticks and bark and trying to eat them. Hence the dirt on your face. :) You and Hudson play so well together. You like to throw the balls for Oliver (even though they don't go very far) and get so tickled watching him run to get them.

You seem to be teething again which means you're getting your paci more than you should. I hate this but you are SO DANG FUSSY when you're teething. It's just not a battle I'm willing to fight right now. Once that tooth pops in, the pacis go back in the crib.

You've gotten a lot better about going to the nursery at church and the gym. You used to cry and get so upset but now you rarely cry. I wouldn't say you're excited about going but it's a step in the right direction!

You are sleeping so great at night. You go to bed around 7 or 7:30 and sleep until about 7ish in the morning. You and Hudson go down for naps at 1:00 and you will sleep for 2-3 hours. Your favorite food is still blueberries. You would eat a pint in one sitting if I'd let you. Ha!

You are such a happy little girl and I can't believe you are getting so close to being 1 1/2. We love you so much and are so proud of the sweet toddler you are becoming.

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 11

This week was crazy. Weird weather...warm some days and cold others. I'm ready for full on spring!

Day 71: "What do you mean it's cold again??? I want to go outside!"

Day 72: family adventure to get cookies and coffee after dinner.

Day 73: we went to a new (to us) park today and Hudson had so much fun throwing rocks into the creek.

Day 74: These are the faces of 2 completely exhausted toddlers. They were both awake by 5:30 this morning. Needless to say, they're both already napping. (at noon!)

Day 75: Oh these sweet little loves. Holding hands on our way to church earlier that night.

Day 76: Cooking dinner with my "helpers."

Day 77: It was such a fun surprise to see Hudson's class come into the gym during my workout this morning! I loved watching him running around with his friends.

more fun run!

I found a few more pictures from the fun run a few weeks ago. I thought these were too cute. Plus there's a video of Hudson running. Sorry it's so shaky, John filmed it while he was running too.

weekend recap!

Happy Monday! And Happy St. Patrick's Day! We had a really great weekend. No huge plans but some great family time. I love spending time with my family. They're my favorite. :)

On Thursday night, we loaded the kids in the stroller for a walk. We stopped by the coffee shop by our house to get them a cookie. And John got a coffee.

Our plan Thursday night was to go find a park we had heard about. Before we got there it was already dark so we headed back home. We tried again on Friday morning and it was so perfect.

It was a playground-less park but had a little creek by it so of course Hudson had a blast throwing rocks into the water.

And Emma was just happy being outside. And collecting sticks.

We spent a lot of time there and I can't wait to go back!

On the way back, Hudson got out of the stroller for a little bit to run. Ever since the fun run, he's loved running. Ha! I think he looks ridiculously adorable here in John's hat.

John was out of town Friday night and Saturday morning so the kids and I had a relaxing morning. As relaxing as it can be when they were both awake by 5:30. Yawn.

We spent a lot of time outside after naps because it was another beautiful day. I'm loving this spring weather we've had!!

While I was doing a little spring cleaning this week I found a Chili's gift card so we headed there on Saturday night for dinner. We hadn't been to Chili's since we lived in Texas!

Emma had a death grip on her milk. She was acting so big and wanted to hold it all on her own.

On Sundays I wake up at 5:00 so I can shower and get ready for church before the kids wake up. We only have 1 bathroom and John gets up at 6 to get ready since he gets to church by 6:45. For a long time this plan was great since I was able to get fully ready before the kids woke up around 7. Now, Hudson is SUCH AN EARLY RISER that he's usually awake right after I get out of the shower. He talked my ear off while I was putting on my makeup! ha!

Sunday night we went to church for our last Sticky Faith class. As we were leaving the house to walk to church, these 2 grabbed each others hands and melted my heart into a huge puddle.

Have a great week, y'all!
