Sweet Home Alabama

So, I've got some big news to share.

Nope...not pregnant.

Our little family of 4 is moving to Alabama. Birmingham to be exact.

John will be the Minister of Worship at a church in Birmingham. It is a wonderful church that we already love. The people have already been so welcoming, kind, loving, and inviting.

This is very VERY bittersweet. We LOVE it here. Victoria has very quickly become home to us. We LOVE the people here. We LOVE our church. But God has called us to a new place and we are very excited about that.

Not only are we moving, but we are leaving so much here. All of our family is in Texas. We've only ever lived in Texas. Our babies were born in Texas.

God has been working and we've been excited to see everything come together. He has been in every step of this process, from the big details to the small ones.

We got an offer on our house less than 24 hours after it went on the market. We will close on our house on June 19th, giving us the perfect amount of time to say goodbye to family in Dallas before making our long drive to Birmingham.

So, in less than 3 weeks we will be moving. We are excited to see what God has in store for us in Alabama. But we will miss SO many people.

We are sad to go, but God is good and he is faithful.

  1. So that's what prompted the before and after house pics huh? Ha!! My cousin is going to Samford in Birmingham next fall!! I need to take note of your positive attitude about moving away from friends and family. Matt has been looking for a new job in Dallas for over a year now and not been successful. He is starting to look outside of Dallas and I've been throwing a hissy fit about just moving to Fort Worth. If you can move to Alabama, I can move to Fort Worth. I'm excited to see where this new adventure takes you guys!!

  2. Exciting! I love Birmingham! It's beautiful!

  3. Wow, that is soon! Excited for this new journey for your family! :)

  4. WOW! What a big change for your family!!! I'm secretly jealous...I've always thought that a big family "adventure" like this would be so much fun and force you to rely on each other instead of everyone around you! Will be praying for the transition and that you feel no stress as you move!

  5. Wow!! That's exciting! I can totally see how bittersweet it is to leave your church family... some days I yearn for a change of atmosphere, but then there are days like today where a sweet church member gave our family a check "just to bless us." Leaving the people will be heartbreaking. Starting a new chapter will be exhilarating.

Good luck! I've heard B-ham is an incredible place to live!!

  6. Congrats to John! What fun!

  7. Wow, Lindsey! I will be praying for you during this big transition. I pray many blessings on your family as you follow God's calling together!

Pack those pearls and monograms, girl! ;)

  8. Eeek!!! So excited for this new chapter for you guys.

    Good luck with it all!
