thoughts on spinning

Last night I did my first spin class in 4 years. Actually, a little under 4 years. I first did spin for about a month before we got married. It was a fantastic workout and I really enjoyed it.

I decided to start again. And it was great. I met Courtney there, we both had our camelbaks, towels and we were ready to go. Note: Do not go to a spin class without water or a towel.

And our class wasn't very crowded. That means less people to watch me sweat like crazy. And I mean sweat. Spinning burns lots of calories (a huge plus) which equals lots of sweat.

However, I think it should be a requirement for people to wear deodorant to spin class. I'm just saying. And poor Courtney..no-deodorant wearing man was on the bike next to her.

So, will I go back? Yes. Am I sore? Luckily, no. I've been pretty good about working out recently so I'm not miserably sore..I feel like I got a great workout.

I just have a very sore tailbone from the bike seat. Small price to pay.

Have you ever tried spinning? What are your favorite ways to workout?

  1. Oh my gosh, Adam and I did spinning classes at the Y in Waco and it was the hardest class I've taken. GREAT workout. Sore booty.

  3. My rear is far too large for that tiny seat! I've gone to one spinning class and hated it. I don't have the attention span to sit on the bike. My three favorite activities in the gym: elliptical, stair master, and the rowing machine. The rowing machine has a game on it...keeps me focused and trying to beat my last score.

  5. Happy belated birthday! This is a strange way to reconnect, but I stumbled upon your blog and it is too cute. You are my hero for spinning - I tried it once and couldn't sit for a week, literally. Michael and I do Crossfit which is insane. Created by US Special Forces, crossfit.com. Hope you're doing well!
