4th of July was Hudson's first holiday! This weekend was actually a weekend of many firsts for him!
Friday we went to lunch at a new restaurant downtown. The food was amazing! John had a turkey burger which was hands down the best turkey burger I've ever tasted in my life. I had a salad which was very good, just not as good as his burger. We also shared an order of shoestring onions and rosemary parmesan fries. Amazing!
After lunch we had a couple of errands we needed to run. Hudson made his first trip to Walmart and his second or third trip to Target. He slept the whole time and did great!
Friday night some friends from church brought us a meal and we watched The Adjustment Bureau. Great movie!
Saturday John spent most of the day working in the front yard. We (and by we I mean John) are in the process of redoing our landscaping out front. He has pulled out all of the plants that were already there and this weekend he reshaped the beds.
John got a break though when some friends from Hamilton were passing through town. It was so great to visit with Shannan and her boys.
Sunday we had lunch with friends after church. (Hudson and I did not go to church...we are waiting a few more weeks.) Then John had an event at church for the 4th. Hudson and I hung out at home then when John got home he did a little more work out in the front yard then we went up to the pool. Hudson and I did not get in but it was technically his first time at the pool. :)
On Monday (the 4th) John worked outside again. Then he took Hudson for the afternoon up to church so I could take a long uninterrupted nap. I slept for 2 1/2 hours and then got to take a shower and get ready. It was amazing!
We went over to our friends house for a cookout and then to watch the fireworks.
Our little family of 3 on Hudson's first holiday. Despite the 2 1/2 hour nap...we look tired!
The lady that does my hair gave Hudson this onesie.
Our yummy dessert!
Happy 4th!

I don't know you personally, but I've been keeping up with your cute little family for a while now (since before you were pregnant with Hudson). I think originally I stumbled upon your link from my friend Autumn's blogroll...?
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say how precious little Hudson is, and what a cute little family you have. Our family is a little family of 3 with a now 2-year-old boy, so I kinda get a little nostalgic seeing you guys experiencing things with a brand new baby boy. ;-)
Anyway, just wanted to come out of the lurker closet and say hello!
Love the family pic! Linds- you look great!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics!! Can't wait to meet him!! :)
