Sweet Hudson,
You are 8 months old! (Friday, February 10) I can't believe we will be celebrating your 1st birthday in just 4 short months. This has by far been your busiest month. You have done so many fun things this month and are changing daily. These pictures are definitely getting more difficult with your mobility. You climbed off the chair during the pictures. I stayed close in case you fell but you didn't need me. You are getting so good!
The biggest thing you did this month was start crawling! You did your first official "crawl" after church in the worship center. You were so proud of yourself! Now you are everywhere and are getting so fast. You are also pulling up on anything and everything now. You are so determined and focused when you do anything.
Eating is going so well. You are still nursing 5 times a day and eating 3 meals and 1 snack. You are eating more table foods. You had spaghetti for the first time this month and loved it. You've had lots of meats now and saltine crackers. You love puffs and mum mums. You will eat anything we feed you or put in front of you. There hasn't been anything you haven't loved yet.
You play so well alone. You can keep yourself entertained for a good 45 minutes to an hour. You just move from toy to toy and talk to your self the whole time. Your favorites right now are your Leap Frog music table, your snaps, Chicco rolling toy, and blocks. Really anything that you can put in your mouth or slam on the floor to make loud noises.
You love music, books and the TV. You also love things that you aren't supposed to have like cords, phones, remote controls, drinks, books (not yours), cabinets, drawers, and outlets (don't worry...they're baby proofed).
You talk and make noise constantly. You say dadadada, mmmmm, ahhhh, and ya. You also talk, gurgle, yell and blow spit bubbles all day long. You have associated "Dada" with John twice. He's so proud of you! You are starting to understand the word "no" because I have to use it several times a day now! Especially when you start "drumming" on Oliver or trying to eat his bones.
You love playing peek-a-boo/where's Hudson. You also love listening to us sing songs. I always stick with ABCs, I'm a Little Teapot and Jesus Loves Me. John can sing I Love You a Bushel and a Peck and you will instantly calm down. It's pretty amazing!
We got your big boy car seat this month and will make the switch to that soon. You are about an inch from outgrowing your infant carrier. Even though that stays in the car 99% of the time it is nice to be able to carry you in it if you fall asleep in it. I will miss that.
We put your bumpers back in your crib this month. You have used them to help you pull up in your crib (which is now on the lowest level) and also as a pillow. It's so sweet and they have definitely lost their shape but you've hit your head on the sides so much. I was a nervous wreck the first night and checked on you constantly but you're doing so well with them in there.
You are just so so sweet and loving. When we can get you to cuddle it's the best feeling. That rarely happens these days.
Hudson, you are our joy. We praise God every day that he has allowed us to be your parents. You have added so much love to our lives and we really can't imagine what it was like before you.
