Thanksgiving in Texas

The Monday before Thanksgiving we got up and began our 12+ hour trip to Texas for Thanksgiving. Hudson was ready to go in his new big boy car seat (we moved Emma into his old one) and a croissant bigger than his head.

After a very long day of travel, we stopped for dinner (NOT our first stop...there were plenty of others) at a Wendy's and the kids were SO SO happy to be out of the car and move around.

There were lots of sillies that had to be worked out!

We arrived at my dad's around 9:15 that night and the kids went to bed pretty quickly after we got unloaded. The next morning we played and watched lots of Disney Junior.

Hudson slept in our bed with us at my dad's house. It was the first time he has ever slept with us and he did so well. He also took his naps in there and did perfect. We are planning on getting him a big boy bed and starting that transfer in January!

John and the kids got to meet Baby Lincoln. Emma wasn't sure what to think.

And despite the look on Hudson's face, he loved him. Taking a picture of a 2 year old, 1 year old, and  3 week old isn't the easiest task.

Wednesday night we went to my mom's house and Emma got lots of loving on by her Uncle Mark.

Lady and her boys. They were all thrilled.

Our sweet family on Thanksgiving. So thankful.

And Lady with her grand babies.

The day after Thanksgiving we went to downtown McKinney for Dickens of a Christmas. Hudson and Emma got to experience Mom and Popcorn for the first time and of course, loved it.

And I got LOTS of cuddles with Mr. Lincoln.

I mean, seriously. The sweetest.

Saturday night we went back to my dad's for Thanksgiving with him. Unfortunately I was too busy chasing two busy toddlers that I didn't get any pictures. But the food was fabulous and we had a great time. :)

On Sunday we began our trek back home. The interstate we take back to Alabama intersects with the highway some of our friends from Victoria take back from Arkansas so we got to meet them for lunch. Before lunch we let the kids run around and burn some energy. That's John and Hudson WAY out there.

Hudson loves Mike and all of his cool kid tricks.

We miss this family so much. Tyler and Grant are SO good with Hudson and Emma. Hudson and Emma just adore them.

And us with Mike and Libby.

My heart. This is probably my favorite picture from 2013.

Car naps for the win! Our kids have grown up taking long car trips and do so well in the car. I am thankful for that. Our drive home was so easy and they both did great!
