We got home yesterday from a very fun week at the river with John's family. They have property on the Dry Frio River (just past the Frio river in Concan). Although it wasn't quite as relaxing as our last trip (4 years ago!) we still had a great time. A baby really changes everything!
On our way down, we stopped at HEB in San Antonio. Hudson was not happy about being stuck in the cart after a 2 hour car ride so we (very carefully) let him ride in the big part. He was happier.
He watched a little bit of Monsters, Inc. on John's iPad on the way down. We had just gotten home 2 days before from a trip to Dallas so he was not very happy about a 4 hour car trip again.
My newest obsession (thanks to my sister) is a vanilla root beer from Sonic. Hudson is a fan also.
One of Hudson's favorite part of being at the river was not having to ride in his car seat. Riding around on the property sitting in my lap as John drove was very cool to him.
Hudson's first time in the river! It was very cold so he didn't always like it.
He also didn't like that he couldn't walk around very well. It was very rocky and slippery.
We love being here. It is so fun coming because John's family has tons of stories they share. This property has been in John's family for decades.
One of Hudson's favorite things to do was throw rocks into the water.
In the evening we would sit outside and sing songs. John and his cousin, Drew would sing to all of us.
John's dad joined in and they kept us entertained for hours!
The morning of the 4th, Hudson woke up early (at 6:30). John and I shared a room with him this week so it was hard to ignore him. We got up early and played outside for a little bit. Hudson took quite a fall and scraped up his nose. He cried for about 30 seconds and was fine. He's all boy! Since we were up early, we headed into Concan to eat breakfast at Neal's.
Later that day we enjoyed watermelon in the river. (
Hudson is a big fan of watermelon. He would smash his face so far into the watermelon just to get a good bite.
Hudson and Lily swimming in their tubes.
Hudson loved walking around on the ranch. Everyone had their dogs out there which made him even happier. Hudson loves dogs!
Our sweet little family on the 4th.
I love this sweet face. Even when it is all scraped up.
Hudson had his first Capri Sun this week and sucked that thing dry!
I hope everyone had a wonderful week and a great 4th!
What a fun trip. I wish Pearson would eat watermelon, but he won't even touch it now. :(
