Nuby Foam Bath Letters and Numbers

Hudson is OBSESSED with letters and numbers. He's known the alphabet for several months now and can count to 12 on a good day. Most days just 10. :) He knows every sound the letters make and loves to spell things. He can spell his name, Emma, mommy, and daddy. He can write his name and several other letters. And oh my gosh the kid has started learning some sight words (yellow, said, he). I am completely blown away by him. When Nuby sent us these Foam Bath Letters and Numbers I knew that Hudson would love them.

And I was right. Any toy that doubles as a learning tool is a huge win in my book. The whole time Hudson is in the bathtub he is playing with these. He loves to put them in order, spell his name, and search for random letters or numbers.

One game we love to do with these is put them in a bubble bath and I'll ask him to find a certain letter or number and he has to search through the bubbles for it. We also do this just simply as a color game too. So many fun things to do with these! I love that they float (but can still be hidden in bubbles for a fun game!) and they stick so well to the sides of the bathtub.

#woodslifeeveryday2014 week 2

Day 8: Playing trains with my sweet boy.

Day 9: While Hudson was in school, Emma and I stopped by John's office before going to run some errands. She loves going to visit her daddy at work!

Day 10: Not really too much to say about this one. I love my sweet minis so so so much.

Day 11: Anytime Emma wakes up from a nap or in the morning she gathers up and tries to hold as many pacis as she can knowing that once she's out of her crib she won't get one. :)

Day 12: Sweet loves before church.

Day 13: Emma got The Little Mermaid for Christmas and here they are watching it for the first time.

Day 14: On this day they both took wonderfully long naps and when they woke up it was so pretty and sunny outside so we played for a while and then went on a walk.

Five on Friday

Happy Friday, y'all! I'm just going to share a little about our week.

{1}
Monday was day 1 of Emma not getting her paci during the day. She gets it when she sleeps, naps, and in the car only now. It started off well with her standing at her crib screaming.

{2}
The "polar vortex" hit us on Monday. It was bitter cold for a few days so we stayed home and got creative with activities. I can't wait until a movie holds their attention for the whole thing. They lasted about 20 minutes into The Little Mermaid.

{3}
Hudson has been obsessed with letters for several months now. He knows all of his letters, sings the alphabet song several times a day, knows each sound the letters make, and has now started to learn how to write them. His favorite letter is W. He has also figured out how to write his name.

{4}
I got to spend about an hour playing trains with my boy one morning while Emma was napping this week. Loved it.

{5}
By Thursday it really started to warm up. Emma played outside for about an hour while Hudson was at school. It was 50 degrees and after the weather we'd had, it was practically summer! Ha!

Happy Friday! I'm linking up with Darci and the girls!

Last days of 2013

The last few days of 2013 were full of nothing and spending time with family. My mom was in town (and I'm kicking myself for not getting a picture of her with the kids) and we just hung out, relaxed, and played.

We spent some time at the playground at church.

Jen's sweet twins turned 2 so we went to their adorable Bubble Guppies birthday party.

Our neighborhood has a ladybug infestation and it's driving me nuts. I think we're good now after the freeze but we've been getting them in our house for months. Hudson found one on his arm and ran up to me saying, "Mommy! A lady bee!" Sweet boy!

On New Year's Eve day, we went to lunch at one of our favorite little places by our house. We sat outside but they had heaters on and it was perfect.

We loaded the kids up in the stroller, walked to pick up John at work, then walked to the restaurant. I LOVE LOVE LOVE our little neighborhood!

For New Year's Eve we stayed in. We ordered Chinese food, watched Planes with the kids, put them to bed early, and watched TV ourselves. We were in bed around 9:00 and it was perfect. :)

#woodslifeeveryday2014 Week 1

Hello 2014! I am already behind on blogging a few things, but wanted to get this up and I'll catch up on the other stuff later. I'm taking a picture every day in 2014. I've tried this a few times before and never been successful. The first time I tried it, I worked full time, we didn't have kids, and our lives were pretty boring. The other times I've tried it I've followed those photo a day prompts which didn't work for me very well either. Some days it would be 9:00, the kids would be in bed, and the prompt would be "shadow" so I'd end up taking a lame picture of a my nightstand lamp (true story) and post it.

So...here's our first week. If you want to follow along daily, I'm posting these on Instagram (lindsaywoods_) with the hashtag #woodslifeeveryday2014

Day 1: We ate our black eyed peas at lunch in the form of black eyed pea dip so for dinner we had homemade pizza. Hudson LOVED helping me make it.

Day 2: Candice came over for dinner (we had Dr Pepper pork tacos) and Emma enjoyed a slice of lime. It was pure joy for everyone!

Day 3: I snuck in while John was putting Emma to bed to capture this precious moment. He is tightly wrapped around her finger. After this John and I snuck out for a dessert date. (His dad and stepmom were in town!)

Day 4: It had been so cold that it made it so hard to get out of the house to do anything fun. So we went to the church to play in the toddler play room. Hudson dressed up as a bee, Emma was a lady bug (but hated everything she had on), and John and I were wearing these crazy things on our heads.

Day 5: My sweet boys. John is the best dad. He has such a special bond with each kid and they adore him. This was Sunday night right before Hudson went to bed. Notice the finger sucking. :)

Day 6: We got hit with the polar vortex and it was so cold for a few days. Like crazy cold. Monday our high was like 16 or something crazy like that. The kids spent about an hour in the bathtub that morning playing with bubbles and (after I took this picture) finger paint!

Day 7: Hudson went back to school on Tuesday but had a delayed start because of the cold. We braved the weather to walk him to school and when we got home, Emma could not rip her layers off fast enough.

I hope everyone had a great first week of 2014! It's gonna be a great year. :)

Christmas Morning!

Santa came!

Christmas this year was so much fun! Hudson understands so much and got so into it. Emma didn't really get it at all but would get excited when Hudson was excited.

Hudson thought it was so funny that Santa ate his cookies and drank his milk and that Rudolph loved the carrots!

Here they are coming out of Hudson's room. Side note: their bedrooms connect so we went through Emma's room and we were able to bring them out together from Hudson's room.  :)

It took Hudson a minute to realize what he saw in front of the tree. :)

The ball pit was a huge hit! Santa got a GREAT deal on this from Zulily. ;)

And now checking out Emma's new house. They both love this house so much!

I knew the train table would be a huge hit with Hudson. He loves the one at Toys R Us!

Digging into stockings!

Emma got The Little Mermaid from Papa Jim!

And a grocery cart!

They got so many new books this year. I love that they love books.

Emma got this adorable camera and Hudson kept taking selfies and saying "cheeeeese!" all day. :)

Later in the day, I was making some fresh whipped cream for a pie and Emma discovered the amazingness of it.

It was a perfect Christmas day with my family!
